One of the ferrous mines who have gone almost 165 meters deep open cast, were repeatedly affected by heavy monsoon and solids loaded water accumulation at pit bottom. This affecting production. Their regular combination of submersible pump installed inside the pit bottom and feeding to a clear water split case pump was only giving one hour of operation as split case pump could not handle slurry, getting jammed. while submersible pump could handle slurry, but had just 20 meters head ability. So it was a catch 22 situation that dewatering badly affected blasting and mine production.
